A.G.O. Transportation Inc. Celebrates over 30 Years of Excellence in Canada
In December of 1991, Mr. Andre Goguen founded Action Customs Services Inc., a "Custom Brokerage House" catering to a very specific type of clientele. Having worked almost 20 years as a Director for a big Customs Brokerage company, he realized the ever-growing need for a more personalized, efficient and an "above and beyond" service approach. The company very quickly succeeded in building up a client base that understood and appreciated the value of SERVICE.
As the business grew, he realized that customers had yet another important need; they wanted "One Stop Shopping". As a result, in October 1993, A.G.O. Transportation was born (Air, Ground, Ocean), offering a complete package of transportation services to satisfy domestic and international clients alike.
Our companies' philosophy is centered on the commitment to our clients for service excellence, and our dedication to this commitment has contributed to our continued growth over the years.
In 1998, Andre joined forces with Sandra Faraj – Vice President, and as time went by, they both realized yet another important need; a U.S. Customs Brokerage office at the U.S – Canada Northern border which is when they opened Action Worldwide Inc.
Over the past few years Mr. Goguen has slowly stepped back from day-to-day running of the businesses and handed over the reins to Ms. Sandra Faraj who has continued to grow the companies along with the help of Senior Director of Sales and Operations Mrs. Michelle McCaughan.
Our most valuable asset however has always been our staff without whom we would not be where we are today. Most of our staff have grown with the company and we are proud to also have multiple generations from the same family all working together. Those who have chosen to leave left for a career change, a move to a different city/country or family circumstances and not for another job opportunity in the same industry.
As the companies kept growing the need arose to find exceptional individuals to manage and lead A.G.O. Transportation and Action Customs Services. As Covid hit, our companies continued to flourish however as most of you already know, it was a very difficult time (and still is) finding ANYONE to work, especially employees whose values aligned with those of our companies, leadership skills, determination and years of experience and knowledge in our industry.
The stars must have been aligned because we managed to find 8 new additions to our team in the last few years including our Director of Customs Operations, Mr. David Jodoin and our Director of Freight Operations Mr. Wayde Brenie. Both David and Wayde’s careers in the industry span 25 years plus and their commitment to our vision is unprecedented.
These new individuals have been instrumental in allowing us to put business development at the forefront again which involves meeting our agents at the upcoming GAA Conference in Athens. Although we have been members of GAA since its inception this will be our first meeting, and our goal is to build strong and mutually beneficial partnerships with our agents. We believe these face-to-face opportunities are the foundation of strong relationships that are built not only on business but friendship and trust as well!
